Hello!

I’m Samantha Harrison.

I help overwhelmed families navigate disability services with clarity and confidence

Care services shouldn't be complicated!

For many families, accessing Kentucky's disability services feels like a full-time job—one filled with red tape, endless paperwork, and a system that wasn’t built for real people.

I can help you cut through the paperwork, secure the right services, and find a path that works for your family.

Disability services are not one-size-fits-all.

Every family’s needs are unique, and navigating the system shouldn’t feel like a full-time job. That’s why I focus on:

Clear, practical guidance – No vague advice. Just actionable steps tailored to your specific situation.

Hands-on support – From waiver applications to caregiver recruitment, I help families navigate the details.

Empowering education – Understanding your options is key to making informed decisions. I make sure families and professionals have the knowledge they need to move forward with confidence.

My Approach

It's time for your loved one to thrive, not just survive.

With over a decade of experience in self-direction, I provide families, caregivers, and professionals with the tools, strategies, and confidence to navigate disability services effectively. Whether it’s recruiting, hiring, training, or managing caregivers, I offer hands-on guidance that simplifies complex processes and creates sustainable, long-term solutions.

I take a creative, problem-solving approach, offering expert guidance and targeted solutions that help families build a future filled with choice, flexibility, and stability. My goal is to make it easier for individuals and families to understand and access their care options—so they can focus on living, not just managing care.

I believe in a future where everyone has the support they need to live life on their own terms. My mission is to ensure families don’t feel lost in a system that wasn’t designed with them in mind. By simplifying processes, removing barriers, and providing practical, real-world solutions, I help families move forward with clarity and confidence.

Learning the Hard Way: Families Need More Support

The system wore us down.

I spent eight years working alongside a family, helping them navigate Kentucky’s disability service system for their adult loved one. Eight years of phone calls, paperwork, appeals, and dead ends. Eight years of fighting to get the right services, only to be met with confusion, delays, and a system that seemed designed to wear families down.

We did everything we were supposed to do. We followed the rules, filled out the forms, asked the right questions. And yet, time and time again, we ran into barriers that shouldn’t have existed. I watched as the family’s hope turned into exhaustion, their determination into frustration—not because they didn’t care, but because the system made it nearly impossible for them to succeed.

That experience changed everything for me.

It was in those eight years—walking beside them, seeing the struggle firsthand, and feeling the weight of the system myself—that I learned how disability services really work.

I learned how to:

Push past the roadblocks

Make sense of policies that don’t make sense

Advocate effectively alongside families who want the best for their loved one

Most importantly, I learned that families shouldn’t have to do this alone

Turning Experience into Action

With over a decade of experience in Kentucky’s self-direction programs, I’ve seen families burned out by a process that’s supposed to help them. I’ve seen how overwhelming it is to manage Participant Directed Services (PDS), hire and retain caregivers, and plan for the future when you’re already stretched thin.

I know what it takes to cut through the red tape because I’ve lived it—alongside real families, in real time.

That’s why I do this work.

I didn’t just study disability services—I lived it as a Direct Support Professional, a mentor, and a guide for families trying to find answers. My academic background from the University of Louisville, where I studied Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, and Public Health, gave me the foundation to understand person-centered planning.

But those eight years in the trenches of our disability service system taught me what no classroom ever could:

Families need someone in their corner.

Now, I use everything I’ve learned to help families navigate the system with clarity, confidence, and a plan that actually works. Because you shouldn’t have to figure this out alone.

Let’s build something sustainableso you and your loved ones can thrive, not just survive.
