Did you know there is a free program in Northern Kentucky designed to help you care for your loved ones? The National Family Caregiver Support Program is here to support family caregivers in Northern Kentucky by offering a range of services at no cost.

Administered by the Northern Kentucky Area Development District and funded by the Older Americans Act (Title III-E), this program provides invaluable resources and assistance, ensuring that caregivers have the support they need to care for their loved ones with compassion and competence.

Whether you need respite care, or support and education, this program is dedicated to lightening the load and empowering caregivers in our community.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must live in Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, or Pendleton Counties. You must also meet one of the following criteria:

  • Do you provide care to an individual 60 years of age or older?
  • Do you provide care to an individual of any age with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia?
  • Are you a grandparent or relative, age 55 or older, and the primary caregiver of a minor child age 18 or younger?
  • Are you a grandparent or relative caregiver, age 55 or older, providing care to an individual with disabilities age 19 to 59 (the caregiver in this case cannot be the disabled individual’s parent)?

Who Does the Program Benefit?

Primary caregivers in Northern Kentucky get the support they need to continue in their role as family caregivers. This program aims to ease the burden on caregivers by providing essential resources and support.

Services Offered

The program offers various services, including:

  • Information and Assistance about accessing local services
  • Educational opportunities
  • Support group information
  • Supplemental services (limited)
  • Respite care to provide temporary relief from full-time caregiving
